TrekDesk Treadmill Desk Announces New Partnership

Charlotte, NC – TrekDesk Treadmill Desks has joined forces with Wine for Water, a charity organization dedicated to bringing clean water to remote villages across the planet, and Filters Fast LLC, (the largest online retailer for water and air filters) through a Work and Walk for Water (W3) Project. The W3 Project is committed to educating and engaging the community in a humanitarian effort to help provide clean drinking water to those who do not have access to it.

In many countries women and children have to walk approximately 3.7 miles to carry gallons of water back to their homes and villages. Women and children usually bear the burden of collecting water by walking to the nearest water source which is generally contaminated because it is also shared with livestock and other animals. In most cases, contaminated water is their only option for drinking water which can trigger waterborne diseases that may result in death. Roughly 3.6 million people die from a water-related disease each year.

While the W3 Project emphasizes its objective for clean drinking water, the benefits of walking are well publicized and great for your health. Some employees at Filters Fast walk about 1 to 3 miles per hour at work, while using a TrekDesk Treadmill Desk to track their miles. The TrekDesk encourages weight loss, along with a total overhaul of mental and physical well-being while at work or at home. Doctors credit walking with reducing your risks of hypertension, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, obesity and arthritis.

“We are very excited about our new W3 partnership with and,” stated TrekDesk CEO, Steve Bordley. “Our thanks go out to Wine to Water’s Doc Hendley, a CNN Hero recipient, for showing us that one individual can singlehandedly evoke a major change in the world and to Dee Rubina of FiltersFast, who after losing 150 lbs on her own personal quest had the vision, drive and commitment to transform her success into a much larger vision for the health of the world.”

Filters Fast is committed to engaging and educating the community in this humanitarian effort to help eradicate the tragic outcome of contracting waterborne diseases that can result in death from simply drinking unclean water. You do not have to be a water scientist, ground water professional or public health professional in order to get involved. All it takes is a willingness to do something as simple as walking and donating money or miles to the cause. To learn more about the W3 (Work and Walk for Water) initiative, visit
