Casting Firm for Academy Award’s “The Fighter” Uses TrekDesk Treadmill Desks

TrekDesk Treadmill Desks were featured this week as an innovative tool to maintain health on ABC TV’s Boston Chronicle Medical Series.

Boston, MA –  As owner of Boston Casting, Angela Perry spends her days casting films like Mark Walkburgh’s  Academy Award winning “The Fighter”.  The daily demands of her company were forcing her to sit too much during the day and never allowed her to fit in enough time for exercise. Her solution? A TrekDesk Treadmill Desk.

In a Medical Journal segment on Boston Chronicle Angela explained her main reason for purchasing the TrekDesk to change her daily routine. “I’d get up, get ready, get in the car, sit in the car, come to work, sit at my desk, get on the phone- like this bent over the phone, ” she added, crunching up for the camera like most office employees spend their days. “All my intestines, everything squished up like this, I’d sit like this eight to twelve hours a day.” She knew she had to change her life or her health would suffer. That’s when she found the TrekDesk.

Perry said she now integrates the TrekDesk into her daily schedule. “I ‘ll have lunch and then I’ll get on the TrekDesk for the rest of the afternoon and I’ll do about three hours a day.“

That three hours a day is significant since it allows Perry to get in 10,000 steps, a minimum to maintain health according to the Surgeon General. “I have lost 22 lbs. I feel what I did for my body was instead of sitting all day and crunching all these organs together, now I am upright, this is all open. It’s almost like yoga where I will be walking and I will also do a stretch while I am walking and its changed my metabolism which I think is a big thing because as you get up in years it is hard to lose weight.”

Angela states emphatically the impact that TrekDesk has made in a very short time. “It’s changed my life, I highly recommend it for everybody. Yeah, you’ll look a little crazy but so what!? she asks with an amusing hand gesture,  you are getting healthy, that is the most important thing.”
