Report: Doctor’s Prescriptions For Exercise Increasing, TrekDesk Can Help


New research released this week by the Centers for Disease Control show that physicians prescribed exercise by a much wider margin this past year than during the previous decade. Good news from a preventative standpoint however most Americans cite a lack of time and motivation as the top two reasons they do not heed the advice according to a previous study by the National Institutes of Health.  What to do? Nearly 33% of all patients visiting a physician in 2011 were advised to exercise, an increase from 23% in 2000 according to the CDC report. “Advising individuals to exercise is an important step in our nation’s health recovery,” stated Steve Bordley CEO of TrekDesk Treadmill Desks. “However, unless we offer tools and alternatives that make exercise automatic and pervasive the advice will go unheeded.”

The CDC study was based on survey results from more than 22,000 adults compared with previous CDC surveys.
